JFSC appoints new Commissioner

Thursday 05 October 2017

The JFSC has announced the appointment of Annamaria Koerling as a Commissioner.

Ms Koerling was sworn in for a five-year term as one of 10 JFSC Commissioners.

With a career in wealth management that spans more than 25 years, Ms Koerling  is a Chartered Wealth Manager and a Fellow of the Securities Institute. Twice named ‘Woman of the Year’ by Citywealth, she has held senior roles at several large global financial institutions including Cazenove, Merrill Lynch, C Hoare & Co and Schroders where she is currently a non-executive director.

Amongst other roles, she is a Fellow Commoner of Queens’ College Cambridge and serves on Queens’ College’s Investment Committee and is a trustee of the choral charity ORA. She is also a member of a number of Angel Investor syndicates and her focus is on supporting businesses where a least one of the founders is a woman.

John Eatwell, JFSC Chairman commented: “We are very pleased to announce Annamaria’s appointment. Fulfilling the role of one of our overseas Commissioners, she brings with her significant professional knowledge and expertise and is extremely well-regarded within her field.”

Annamaria Koerling added: “I am delighted to be joining the Board to serve as a Commissioner. During my 25 years in international wealth management I have worked closely with financial services firms in Jersey and have taken a keen interest in the role the Island plays in delivering financial services and the contribution it makes to the UK economy. I look forward to working with the Board and colleagues at the JFSC and hope that my experience as a practitioner will contribute to the already positive dialogue with industry and a forward-looking, outcome-based approach to regulation.”
