New trustees for Lloyds Bank Foundation

Friday 04 November 2016

The Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands is marking the forthcoming Trustees' Week with the appointment of two new trustees.

Alison Le Feuvre and John Henwood are now on the pan-Island board of the Foundation that grants more than £700,000 to local charities across the Bailiwicks each year to help disadvantaged Islanders.

For 35 years Mrs Le Feuvre was a Special Needs Teacher at Mont A l’Abbe school in Jersey where she used her training from St. Luke’s College and Exeter University in Vocational Guidance to help her students. Over the past two years, she has also been a volunteer with the Jersey Alzheimer’s Association where she assists an Art Therapist in running a weekly therapy session for clients and their carers.

During a 38-year history with Channel Television Mr Henwood progressed from a trainee in 1962 to Chief Executive of the Group in 1986. He also carries much experience as a trustee being on the Board of Trustees of the St. John Youth & Community Trust and formerly of the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.

He is also President of the Jersey Branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and former Chairman and past President of the Institute of Directors (IoD) in Jersey amongst various other board memberships and directorships of varying companies throughout his life. In 1998, Mr Henwood was appointed MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for services to broadcasting and the community.

Both will be joining the pan-island board of trustees which is evenly split between representatives from both Jersey and Guernsey.

Their appointments come just ahead of Trustees' Week in the UK which is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference.

Katie Le Quesne, Chairman, Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands said: “I’m delighted to welcome both Ally and John to the Foundation Board of Trustees.  Both of them have experience and backgrounds which will help the Foundation develop and to focus our work in reaching out to those who are struggling and provide a helping hand. I look forward to working with them both in helping change lives for the better across the Islands.”
