Senior wealth appointments at HSBC

HSBC has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer and Head of Customer and Products with responsibility for the Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Europe.

As Chief Operating Officer for Wealth and Personal Banking, Christine Yew will be focusing on HSBC employees, and operational risk and strategic digital transformation for the Bank.

Ms Yew, who launched a talent talent programme for HSBC in Europe in 2018, has spent seven years with HSBC and has broad experience gained in various global, regional and country roles, including Head of Cost Management UK and Europe, Europe Regional Lead for International Markets and Head of Business Management for EMEA. She previously worked at Barclays and Citi in Europe and the US.

Christina Liciaga’s role as Head of Customer and Products will define the wealth and personal banking product and customer engagement strategy. Since joining the Bank in 2009, she has held roles in Latin America, Asia and the UK, including as Head of Protect Customer Journeys UK, Head of Customer Service UK, Head of High Net Worth Distribution, and Global Head of Jade and Wealth Propositions.

Before joining the bank, built and sold two digital businesses and acted as a strategic consultant. She has also been recognised as a Top Customer Experience Professional and a Top 10 EMpower Ethnic Minority Leader.
