Jersey Water has appointed a new Water Quality Manager.
Dr Donald Reid joins the company from Alberta in Canada where he spent 10 years as the Drinking Water Quality Regulator for the Department of Environment and Parks, leading the implementation of drinking water safety plans in Alberta.
Dr Reid holds a B.Sc in Biology and a PhD in Chemical Engineering and has held the position of Lecturer at the University of Sunderland and The Robert Gordon University, and is presently an Adjunct Professor in the School of Public Health at the University of Alberta and an Adjunct Associate Professor in Civil Engineering in the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary.
He worked for the Scottish Government for eight years as a Principle Scientist responsible for policy development and implementation in the drinking-water sector and in 2005 was seconded to the Federal Government in Canada.
