Saturday 05 March 2016

Two charities have teamed up and are kicking off with a big football match at Springfield this Spring.

The British Red Cross and Donna Annand Melanoma Charity are taking on local politicians, senior officers and the media for the big match on Sunday 10 April.

Nick Chandler - the Operations Manager for the British Red Cross will select and manage the British Red Cross XI while Deputy Murray Norton, the Assistant Minister for Economic Develop is in charge of the team of States members, senior officers and media.

The aim of the game is to raise money for both charities and there will be fun and games for children at half-time as well as a football-related raffle and auction after the match in the Flag and Whistle Café.

The game is one of a number of events planned as part of the build-up to the 100th Muratti Final at Springfield in May.

Kick-off is at 2 pm.
