Buses: New route and more frequent evening services

Saturday 19 November 2022

LibertyBus is adding a new St. Saviour route and has made improvements to other routes in a move its Director hopes will lead more islanders to take the bus.

From next week, Route 23A will operate in the evenings from Liberation Station to St Martin’s Hall, via St Saviour’s Road and Five Oaks six days a week, with later services on Fridays and Saturdays.

Other improvements include:

  • Route 1A: More frequent evening services

  • Route 12A: New Sunday evening service

  • Route 22: Hourly frequency maintained from the summer into winter

  • Route 15: Available every 15 minutes

  • Route 1: Available every 15 minutes

  • Route 23: Continuing to Acorn Enterprises on an hourly basis

"We are very pleased to be able to resume a normal service for our customers and, together with the improved services, we hope we will see more islanders choosing to take the convenient, cost effective option by taking the bus," Director Kevin Hart said.

"Our recruitment of new drivers has gone very well which has enabled us to return to full service' along with the continued support of our existing staff working overtime to make sure we can deliver the service to the public of Jersey. However we are still recruiting for staff so anyone interested should get in touch to find out more and apply."

It comes after LibertyBus and its Guernsey counterpart CT Plus were sold to Australia's largest transport provider, Tower Transit, in September.

The new winter timetable, which comes into force on Monday 21 November, can be viewed online HERE.
