Election: 16 Members (and 163 years of experience) bow out of politics

When the States get back together in three weeks to pick a new Chief Minister, they will be without 16 of the old House, including some of the most experienced politicians in the States.

Seven of the 16 were kicked out by the voters, but nine had made the decision to stand down on their own.

The departing Members are: Deputy Rob Duhamel (21 years’ service), Senator Alan Breckon (21 years), St John Constable Phil Rondel (18 years), Deputy Roy Le Herissier (15 years), Deputy Gerard Baudains (14 years), Senator Sarah Ferguson (12 years), Trinity Constable John Le Sueur Gallichan (12 years), Deputy James Reed (12 years), Deputy Pat Ryan (nine years), Deputy Sean Power (nine years), Senator Ian Le Marquand (six years), Senator Francis Le Gresley (four years), Deputy James Baker (three years), Deputy John Young (three years), Deputy John Le Bailly (three years) and Deputy Nick Le Cornu (one year).
