Funfair fight investigated by Police

Monday 06 August 2018

Police are seeking information on a fight between three young women that kicked off by the Grasshopper funfair ride.

The scuffle occurred around 21:40 on Friday night.

Two girls – aged 14 and 21 – were said to have been exiting the Grasshopper ride together when they came across another, a 15-year-old.

After what Police described as a “brief exchange”, the trio’s brawl began. No one was arrested or required hospital treatment, but the 15-year-old was said to have “suffered slight injuries.”

Police are now urging the public to contact them if they have further information about what happened.

In an appeal launched over the weekend, they described the young women as follows:

  • "A white female, 15 years of age, suffered slight injuries as a result of the fight but did not require hospital treatment. She was wearing a black and white stripped crop top and blue jeans. Her hair was worn up in a ponytail.

  • "A white female, 21 years of age, slightly chubby with blonde shoulder length hair, wearing a cream dress and jacket and white Nike air trainers. She is not believed to have required hospital treatment.

  • "A white female, 14 years of age, thin with long blonde hair, wearing a red belly top, dress and brown open-toed high heels. She is not believed to have suffered any injuries."

Anyone with information can contact Police on 612612 or make an anonymous report via Crimestoppers online.
