This year’s Style Awards to be even bigger and better

Tuesday 29 May 2018

The Jersey Style Awards which aim to "showcase the island as a vibrant, sought after destination" promise to be more lavish and high profile than last year’s inaugural event, according to event organisers.

The red-carpet, black tie, long dress, spectacular is once again being staged at the Royal Jersey Showground on Thursday 28 June, and already all of the Gold VIP tables for 10 costing £5,000 have sold out.

Last year Dame Shirley Bassey was inaugurated into the ‘Style Hall of Fame’, but this year it’ll be the turn of legendary fashion designer Pam Hogg for her contribution to the industry over the past 30 years.

Italian luxury fashion house Prada will be given a special ‘International Fashion Brand of the Year’ award, and London-born designer Richard Quinn will be honoured with ‘Emerging British Designer of the Year’. But locally, perhaps there’s more interest in which of the 54 shortlisted entrants will pick up the 13 awards on offer. They range from retailer, restaurant and hotel of the year, to cultural and visitor attraction of the year, and tastemaker.

Organisers have yet to reveal the surprise music act who will perform to the VIP guests on the night, but have promised that they are in for quite a show.
