Suspect to be charged over death of ex-honorary

Friday 09 August 2019

The key suspect in an investigation surrounding the death of a former honorary policewoman, who died from a “stab wound to the neck”, is to be charged in court.

Police confirmed this afternoon that the 40-year-old man they have been questioning in relation to the death of Pamela Margaret Nisbet was due to appear in the Magistrate’s Court at 15:45.

It comes after a Home Office pathologist confirmed yesterday that Mrs Nisbet’s death was the result of a “stab wound to the neck”.

Police were subsequently granted an additional 24 hours to continue questioning the only suspect in the case.

In an earlier statement, they said that no one else was being sought in relation to the alleged crime on Tuesday evening.

In a series of tributes paid to Mrs Nisbet this week, she was remembered as a popular member of the St. Peter community, who had served the island as an honorary policewoman, through the Youth Court, and as a member of the Law Society's Disciplinary Panel.
