A 42-year-woman is currently on bail after being arrested on suspicion of common assault, disorderly conduct and malicious damage following a New Year's Day incident on Stopford Road.

The police said the woman was involved in an incident outside private premises near the Second Hand Shop on Stopford Road around 16:15 on 1 January.

The woman, who was with two men and another woman, is described as having long brown hair and was wearing a furry grey coat at the time of the incident.

It is alleged she was shouting and swearing in the road. She is also suspected of assaulting a woman in her late 30’s who had blonde hair and was wearing glasses.

Neither the victim nor any other parties required hospital treatment.

Damage was also caused to the window of a nearby residential property.

The 42-year-old woman was arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of common assault, disorderly conduct and malicious damage. She is currently on police bail. The police said no other arrests have been made.
