A 36-year-old woman had to attend hospital for her injuries after being hit by a Jaguar car, according to Police.

The pedestrian had been walking from the town towards Liberation Square along Conway Street around 10:25 on Saturday 1 June.

As she crossed the junction of Wharf Street, a Silver Jaguar Saloon was said to knock her down as it turned into Wharf Street.

The woman – described as wearing a “multi-coloured top and blue jeans” - was hurt in the collision and had to be taken to hospital. Police said she suffered an injury to her ankle requiring medical treatment, but this was fortunately only “minor”.

They are now appealing for witnesses  and urge anyone with more information to call 612612 or make an anonymous report via the Crimestoppers website.
