The annual Guernsey Mind Investec 10K Challenge returns today.

More than 350 people signed up for the fully-booked run, which is a key fundraiser for the mental health charity.

The event’s theme is “challenging yourself”, and features a new route which goes from the Imperial Hotel to Grandes Rocques.

Amanda Hibbs, Communications and Events Lead said: “The 10K Challenge is one of our main annual events at Guernsey Mind, it’s not just a key fundraiser, but also raises important awareness about mental health and wellbeing.”

Ms Hibbs continued: “We all know exercise helps our bodies, but it’s just as crucial for our minds. We’re extremely grateful to Investec for supporting this event again. They provide volunteers on the day and sponsor the event, which means every penny raised goes to support our work within the Bailiwick.”

The race is once again sponsored by Investec, and supported by Guernsey Athletics, The Imperial Hotel, St John, Guernsey Civil Protection, CI Coop, and Stagecoach.

Emily Dawson, Head of Private Banking at Investec Bank, Channel Islands, said: “The Guernsey Mind 10K Challenge is a fantastic event that brings people together to focus on both physical and mental wellbeing.

“This is Investec’s eighth year sponsoring the event, reflecting our commitment to supporting the Guernsey community by creating opportunities to connect, challenge ourselves and talk openly about mental health.”

Ms Dawson added: “With an Investec team also taking part, we look forward to joining everyone on the day and wish all participants the very best of luck.”
