Rotary Young Artist and Rotary Youth Photographer Competition: SUBMISSIONS OPEN
Submissions are now open for entries to the “Rotary Young Artist” and “Rotary Youth Photographer” competitions!
Open to young people of all ages, taking part offers the chance to be recognised nationally through these prestigious awards, as well as have work showcased in the upcoming “Rotary Young Artist and Photographer 2026” exhibition, taking place at the George Crossan Gallery from the 16th October.
This year’s theme is “Friendship”.
Using photography or mixed visual art mediums, participants are invited to create a 2 Dimensional piece of work inspired by what friendship means to them.
Entrants must create a 2D artwork or photograph/photo collage inspired by the theme “Friendship”, complete the relevant entry form (available via the Rotary website), and submit their entry by the 30th September 2026.

Guernsey Arts are proud to present a hand-picked selection of pieces, displayed at the George Crossan Gallery in the Inner Market.
This wonderful annual exhibition is now drawing to a close, so make sure to get down there before Sunday the 27th September to enjoy the show!

Think & Drink recognises this, bringing you engaging talks by people who really know their subject, given somewhere comfortable rather than a lecture hall. No jargon and no homework: the expertise stays up front with the speakers, and the rest of us just bring the curiosity.
This month’s speakers are: Nick Cragg (Guernsey’s Fourth Plinth Project: a community-focused modern art initiative), Paul Chambers (The magic trick: what wet plate photography taught me about second chances), Lupin Vivian (How do you think? Exploring various modes of human thought), and Andrew Doyle (Reinvention Island: seven ways Guernsey earned its living)

Scruffy Boudloe – Kintsugi Workshop
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the broken pieces with lacquer dusted or mixed with gold, silver, or platinum. It literally means “golden joinery” or “golden repair”. Rather than hiding the damage, kintsugi highlights the repair, emphasizing the object’s history and creating a unique, more beautiful piece.
Come spend a relaxing hour or so learning this amazing art and create something beautiful, with Scruffy Boudloe! All materials will be supplied (including a choice of one piece of crockery) along with refreshments and the important snacks!
Please note that the finished piece should be used for decoration only as it will not be food safe.
The William Morris Collective presents: Radical Beauty
The William Morris Collective’s inaugural exhibition, Radical Beauty, is now open at St Stephen’s Church!
Running until the 17th of October and open from 10am – 6pm daily, the exhibition is a celebration of the extraordinary stained glass windows of St Stephens, designed by William Morris – the globally recognised designer, poet, author and social activist, associated with the British Arts & Crafts movement.
William Morris Collective aims to create a Guernsey Arts & Crafts revival, elevating the heritage crafts of our island alongside that of local artists, rooted in the honouring of the beauty and fragility of our natural world. The exhibition is free and open to all. Enjoy the show!
