8-year-old Chloe Mauger has raised hundreds of pounds for the GSPCA by cycling 122 miles in just one month.
The school girl launched her charity challenge at the beginning of June, with a fundraising target of one pound per mile cycled.
Setting out to cycle 112 miles throughout June, the 8-year-old surpassed her fundraising target by receiving more than £600 in donations.
Chloe’s dad, Alex Mauger said the challenge initially was a bit of fun.
By the end of June it had turned into a “journey”, with Chloe smashing her fundraising target and ending her cycling challenge by completing 13 miles in just two hours to close the month.

“So so proud of my daughter who this afternoon completed the challenge, doing the final 13 miles over a 2 hour cycle,” wrote Mr Mauger on LinkedIn.
“We would just like to say a big thank you to everyone that has been so generous, we initially planned to raise £112 but have been blown away from the generosity and have raised £612 so far for the GSPCA. The fund raising page is still open incase there are any more.”
Mr Mauger said that Chloe’s fundraising challenge gave her other exciting opportunities including radio interviews. She’s now thinking about what she could do next!
“112 miles may not seen that far for some, and for others it may seem like a lot. That is the great thing about sport and so many other things, we all have our own unique goals that we can strive to achieve to develop us.
“So proud of my daughter and hope you feel encouraged as well to go out and tackle a personal goal of yours. Setting a goal that will stretch and develop you and then going after it is fun!
“Already thinking of something new for 2026, maybe Running 26.2!’”
The £612 that Chloe has raised so far is going to the GSPCA, and charity Manager Steve Byrne said he is very grateful.
“That is just incredible,” he said. “Not only has 8-year-old Chloe completed her 112 mile challenge in aid of the GSPCA, she also doubled her fund raising goal raising to date an amazing £612.
“Not only this but she has been featured in many of the local media channels and on social media.
“From all of the team and the animals a huge thank you and we hope to show her round in the near future as bit of a treat.”
Chloe’s fundraising page is still open at Justgiving.
