Anyone who is eligible and still wants to have one has only got today and tomorrow to do so before the special clinic in St Martin’s closes.

After the clinic closes at the end of tomorrow anyone who wishes to have a covid-19 booster vaccine will have to arrange it through their GP or there will be occasional ‘ad-hoc clinics’ at Raymond Falla House which people can book to attend.

Those eligible for the autumn booster are:

  • All adults aged 50 years and over
  • Those aged 5 to 49 in clinical risk groups – including pregnant women
  • Those aged 5 to 49 who are household contacts of people with immunosuppression
  • Those aged 16 to 49 who are carers
  • Residents in care homes for older adults and the staff who work there
  • Frontline health and social care workers

The number of covid cases has recently doubled across the Bailiwick of Guernsey.

Last Tuesday there were 423 known active cases, up from fewer than 200 the week before.

Of the active cases last week, 56 are not vaccinated, 87 have only received their primary course of the covid vaccines, 161 have had one booster and 119 have had two boosters.

The latest covid statistics for the Bailiwick will be published later today.
