Harry Gribbens is the winner of the 2025 Cavagnetto/Lions Club Culinary Apprentice of the Year Award.
The judges said “Harry’s natural flair in the kitchen and his commitment to ongoing improvement” were just two of the reason for his win.
He is currently working at Alba in Market Square.
The coveted culinary award is named after Piero Cavagnetto who owned and ran the restaurant Casa Cavagnetto on the west coast of Guernsey for 10 years in the 1960s and 70s.
Mr Cavagnetto was an active member of the Lions Club of Guernsey.
TGI College’s Head of Department, Hospitality & Catering Sally Warburton Ward said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with The Lions Club of Guernsey to be able to present this award each year and we’re very grateful to Mario and Carlo Cavagnetto for their ongoing support of our young apprentices.
“This is a great way to mark all of our Culinary Apprentices’ progression and success. A huge congratulations to Harry. I look forward to seeing how his career develops in the future.”
Mr Cavagnetto’s sons Mario and Carlo presented Harry with his award at a reception held at Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts.
