The future of work will be under the spotlight in Guernsey this autumn, as a UK workplace culture conference makes its island debut.
Culture Camp Guernsey will take over the Old Government House Hotel on 7 October, bringing together business leaders, managers, HR professionals and others interested in creating happier, healthier and more productive workplaces.
The organisers, Heart Leadership, want the event – which is modelled on one in the UK – to become an annual fixture in Guernsey’s business calendar.
Heart founder Ms Ellison said Culture Camp is designed around “bold ideas, real talk, and a brilliant community of people who care about how we lead, support, and shape the world of work”.
More than just another business conference
Ms Ellison said the one-day event will focus on practical ideas and honest conversations around workplace culture, employee wellbeing and leadership.
Topics on the agenda include compassionate leadership, brain health and menopause, employee feedback, and the financial impact of poor workplace culture.
The programme will feature talks, workshops and panel discussions aimed at helping organisations turn ideas into action.
Speakers include applied neuroscientist Naomi Glover, Hospice UK’s Compassionate Employers Lead Lucy Carpenter, Guernsey Mind Operations Manager Chris Chamberlain, Stribe COO Lucy Harvey and Heart Leadership founder Gemma Ellison.
First of many
The event will run from 09.30 to 16.30 at the OGH Hotel in St Peter Port, with tickets priced at £180. All of the early bird tickets have already sold out.
Organisers say the inaugural event is intended to be the first of a regular series in Guernsey, creating a forum for ongoing conversations about the future of work and workplace culture.
