100: Art of Expression

In celebrating 100 exhibitions at the Greenhouse Gallery, Guernsey Arts have an exciting surprise exhibition planned to mark the milestone… What does Art mean to you?

This exciting showcase will be opening on Friday 27 June, and running until Sunday 24 August.

The Greenhouse Gallery, located within Candie Museum, is open daily from 10am – 5pm. Tickets can be obtained from the front desk, and are free with the Discovery Pass.

The Magic Flute Presented by Opera on Screen

Experience Mozart’s beloved masterpiece The Magic Flute as part of 2025’s free Opéra sur écrans screening.

Brought to you by Opéra de Rennes, in association with Guernsey Arts and the Guernsey Institute, this year’s screening brings opera to the heart of communities across Brittany, the Pays de la Loire and the Channel Islands.

The Opera will be on for one night only, on Thursday 10 July from 7pm – 10:15pm. 

This enchanting new production, conducted by rising star Nicolas Ellis and directed by acclaimed theatre-maker Mathieu Bauer, reimagines the opera through the whimsical world of fairgrounds. Featuring a talented cast including Elsa Benoît and Florie Valiquette in exciting role debuts, and performed by the Orchestre National de Bretagne and Chœur de chambre Mélismes, this festive, family-friendly screening invites everyone to enjoy one of opera’s most magical works.

The screening is performed in German with French subtitles.

Art at The Park: Celebrating Colour

‘Celebrating Colour’ is the latest exhibition at the Art at The Park Gallery, showcasing the vibrant works of artists Nelli Begg and Michelle Stringer!

Runninguntil Friday, 27 June, the gallery is open 10am until 5pm daily, (Please be aware that the exhibition will close at 2pm on the final day.) 

This showcase invites visitors to enjoy a dynamic exploration of colour and form. 

Nelli Begg is renowned for her bold use of colour and compositions that evoke emotion and movement. Her pieces often draw inspiration from natural landscapes, people and animals, translating them into vivid, expressive artworks. 

Michelle Stringer brings a complementary perspective with her intricate patterns and textured surfaces. Her work delves into the interplay between light and colour, creating pieces that are both visually stimulating and contemplative. 

Together, Begg and Stringer present a collection that celebrates the power of colour to transform spaces and perceptions. The Art at The Park Gallery within Saumarez Park provides the perfect backdrop for this exhibition, with its spacious and light-filled environment enhancing the visual impact of the works on display.
