Independent think tank Policy Centre Jersey has bolstered its management committee with a chartered accountant – whose background includes time as chair of the Institute of Directors – amid continued efforts to “enhance knowledge and understanding of the key challenges and opportunities facing the island”.
Wendy Dorman – who has extensive experience in UK and international taxation, principally in the financial services sector – is also a former president of the Jersey Society of Certified and Chartered Accountants.
She retired as partner and leader of the PwC Channel Islands tax practice in 2015, following which she spent ten years as non-executive director and audit committee chair of listed companies, including Jersey Electricity.

Ms Dorman was the first businesswoman to head the local branch of the Institute of Directors.
She joins the Policy Centre just a few months after the charity appointed a new director.
She said: “We all have different ideas about how to secure a bright future for the island of Jersey and for all of us who call it home, but if we can make our judgements based on good information we are far more likely to succeed.
“Jersey Policy Centre aims to enhance knowledge and understanding of the key challenges and opportunities facing the island, and the impact of policy decisions.
“If I can play a small part in achieving these aims, I see this as a very worthwhile cause.”
