Some of the B Creative dancers competing in the ‘On The Beat’ street dance competition in Manchester won medals – with the entire squad gaining valuable experience, said their coach.
The BC Nitrogen Crew came second in their ’16 & over’ beginners category last weekend, while Elijah Echebima came first in the age 8 & 9 solo set category.
The whole squad performed well with the ‘BC Cosmos Crew’ coming fifth in the 11years & under beginners category, and the ‘BC Force Crew’ fifth in 13 years & under beginners.
Individually, Elijah Echebima also came fifth in the age 8 & 9 class member freestyle category, Maisy Davison was fifth in the 10 years and under class member freestyle, Maddison Crouse came fourth in class member 11 years and under freestyle, Zahra Kiaie came sixth in the beginners 12 years and under solo set, and Oliver Blundell was seventh in the beginners 12 years and under solo set
Head coach Brandi Attewell said she was so proud of everyone who took park, representing B Creative and Guernsey.
“The standard was so high and competition at the beginners level was fierce, there is so much talent out there!” she said.
In total, 24 youngsters from the BC Cosmos Crew (11 years & under), BC Force Crew (13 years & under), and BC Nitrogen (16 & over) travelled to the Queen Elizabeth Hall in Oldham before their performances last Sunday.
Sponsored by Clarity, the young dancers were all in the ‘beginners’ categories, with Mrs Attewell saying it would give them experience on a bigger scale than here.

The 24 dancers travelled with family, and coaches Seb Shepherd, Kali Le Patourel, and Lily De La Mare along with Mrs Attewell meaning 55 people represented Guernsey at the national competition.
