Guernsey is gearing up for a ‘week of geek’, celebrating all things nerdy and quirky.

‘The Big Geekend’ is a two-day celebration of geekdom on 30 and 31 May, organised by Guernsey Museum at Candie.

In the run up, the museum will also hold a ‘Well-Geeking Week’, from Monday 25 to Friday 29 May.

Miffy Lane, Access and Learning Manager for Guernsey Museums, said people should “bring an open mind”.

She said: “Whether you love Bridgerton, model building, toy trains, gaming, cosplay or history, ‘The Big Geekend’ promises a weekend packed with creativity, discovery and fun for all ages.

“You never know what you might learn or discover.”

There will be a wide range of activities and communities, from fossils and archaeology to Sherlock Holmes, K-Pop cosplay and hands-on crafts.

There will also be a Karting Competition for gamers, with the winner crowned ‘Karting King’.

There will be themed trails around the Museum for younger visitors, and a family-friendly film screening.

Children under seven, Discovery Pass holders and visitors in full costume can come in for free.
