This summer’s Harbour Carnival is going to benefit the new Pump Track being created at Delancey Park.
The Round Table has selected the Velo Club’s development to support this year because it matches the ethos of the community focused Harbour Carnival.
A pump track is a purpose built track for cycling, with rollers, banked turns and features designed to be ridden completely by riders generating momentum by up and down body movements rather than pedalling.
Planning permission is already in place for the facility to be built where the redundant tennis courts are at the park.
The new facility is being designed for the community to use.
By last March, the Velo Club was a third of the way to reaching its target to pay for the new development.
Money raised through the Harbour Carnival will be added to that fundraising total.
This summer’s Round Table Harbour Carnival is taking place on a Saturday for the first time.
The carnival atmosphere will take over town from midday on Saturday 4 July with live music and refreshments available, before the events start with the high tide that evening.
The Round Table is also looking for sponsors for the 2026 Harbour Carnival.
