The 2026 Harbour Carnival will take place on Saturday 4 July.
It’s the first time the event has been held on a Saturday after the organisers decided to move it from its usual Friday night slot.
A poll run by Express earlier this summer found a majority of people supported the event being moved to a new day and time, with two thirds selecting Saturday as their preferred option.
The Round Table has announced the new date after choosing to have a year off this summer so the Harbour Carnival can come back with a renewed vibe in 2026.
Held on a summer high tide in St Peter Port harbour, the event has previously raised tens of thousands of pounds for numerous good causes with popular events including the man powered flight, the ladies’ dinghy race and the tug of war.
Now, the Round Table says the time is right to ‘reset’ before coming back anew next year.
President of the Guernsey Round Table, Tom Allison said all of the events, including the tug of war and man powered flight remain as popular as ever and will be back.
And he said there may be room for some new events too, if that is what supporters, entrants, and spectators would like to see.

The Round Table is also looking for sponsors and beneficiaries for the 2026 Harbour Carnival.
All beneficiary applications need to be in by 30 September after which a shortlist will be put forward to the Round Table October meeting where a ‘winner’ will be chosen.
Mr Allison said the Harbour Carnival raises thousands of pounds for good causes every year and he wants that to continue.
It offers sponsorship and partnership opportunities for local businesses and organisations who also want to support the chosen charities.
The 2024 event supported the Channel Islands Air Search while previous events have raised money for the Guernsey Sea Cadets, the Lihou Island Trust, and the Guernsey Sports Commission.
With so many good causes needing support, Mr Allison said there are ample opportunities for the community to get involved for the wider benefit of those across the Bailiwick.
He said the Harbour Carnival will retain that community ethos at its heart when it returns in 2026.
