There won’t be any change to the way Blanchelande College is funded, despite two other local schools receiving an anonymous donation.
The confirmation came after Elizabeth College and The Ladies’ College received a multi-million-pound gift from an anonymous philanthropist.
Alexa Yeoman, Principal of Blanchelande College said: “We heard of the news yesterday afternoon of the endowment destined for Elizabeth College and Ladies College.
“Deputy Paul Montague, President of the Committee for Education, Sport and Culture has confirmed there is no change in the substantive funding arrangement for Blanchelande College.

“Our Trustees have written to staff and parents to confirm they remain committed to providing an excellent education and to playing a valued and distinctive role in the future of education in Guernsey.”
Deputy Paul Montague, President of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture, added: “Anything that allows Elizabeth College and The Ladies’ College to operate successfully without any taxpayer funding is clearly to be welcomed.

“We are also mindful that this will put Blanchelande College in a different position to the other two colleges, there is no change to the substantive funding arrangement for Blanchelande College.
“I have already spoken to one of its Trustees about this news and we will of course continue that dialogue.”
