A year after it was put on the market for £5.25million, Chateau des Tielles has been sold.
The new owner is Patience Healthcare (Guernsey) Ltd, a UK-based domiciliary care company. The nursing and residential home near the Torteval cliff paths will be the group’s first facility in the Channel Islands.
Director, Jack Baker said he’s looking forward to taking over.
“Chateau des Tielles is a lovely property and business, and we are greatly looking forward to working with the staff, residents and their families and getting to know them. This is a very exciting opportunity for us, and we thank the sellers for entrusting their business with us.”

Chateau des Teilles has been run as a residential and nursing home for 25-years by the current owners. Prior to that it was a farmhouse, hotel, and residential dwelling.
Director at Chateau des Tielles Ltd, Peter Adam said the time had come for him to retire after a quarter of a century running the home.
“We are delighted to have achieved a sale of the business and hope that the new buyers will enjoy the business as much as we have. My fellow Directors and I have worked hard to create and maintain a well-run care home and provide high-quality care for our residents. We hope that the home will continue to be run with the same ethos as we had, and we wish them all the best.”
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co handled the sale, and said it won’t disclose the buying price.
“It has been a great pleasure working with Peter and his colleagues during the marketing of this care home, and we are very pleased to have achieved a sale for them,” said Charles Phillips, Director.
“Having had the pleasure of visiting the property, I was immediately impressed with the lovely setting and sea views that the care home has, as well as the accommodation and level of care provided. We were pleased with the level of interest expressed in this business, and hope the new buyers will be very successful with their new venture.”

Chateau des Tielles sits on a circa 1.24-acre plot with a large lawn, vegetable, and sensory gardens.
It is home to up to 26 service users across 16 single and five twin bedrooms.
