Guernsey’s Oh My Gache! Theatre production group will be performing a rendition of ‘Every Christmas Story Ever Told, (and then some)’ at the end of this month.

Sophie Mahy will be taking the Director’s chair, Aaron Nash is undertaking the Stage management, and the cast consists of just three local actors – Scott Riseborough, Jared Caine, and Sam Totty.

The comedy was created in 2003 in New Jersey, created by Michael Carleton, Jim FitzGerald, and John K. Alvares.

According to a book released by the trio in 2003, it came about as an alternative to performing the traditional Charles Dickens’ beloved holiday classics “for the umpteenth time”.

The three actors instead decided to perform every Christmas story ever told, with the addition of a few Christmas traditions from around the world, some seasonal icons from ancient times, and splashes of “topical pop-culture, and every carol ever sung”.

The creators describe it as a “madcap romp through the holiday season”.

Performances will be at 19.00 from Tuesday 25 through to Saturday 29 November, with tickets costing £14.

Taking place at the Princess Royal Centre for Performing Arts, it has an estimated run time of 90 minutes, with doors opening 30 minutes before curtain up.
