Guernsey’s Saffery Rotary Walk will leave it’s yearly mark on the local calendar on Saturday 7 June 2025, with organisers looking forward to working with members of the community on what they say is “an unforgettable day of teamwork, challenge, and charitable giving”.

There’re many big shoes to fill as last years’ event was a success from any perspective.

More than 1,100 people took part by walking all of or part of Guernsey’s coastline, raising more than £90,000 through sponsorship and donations, which was shared between 21 local charities.

A prominent event on Guernsey’s annual calendar, the 39-mile route can be taken on by individuals, or relay teams of 4 – 7 people, and is open to anyone aged 7 and above.

Relay teams are of keen interest to those behind the event, each member will take on walking a portion of the route, and a group registration fee of £250.

Lisa Vizia, Director at the Saffery Trust, is hoping to encourage interested islanders to sign up.

“We are delighted to invite relay team registrations for this year’s Walk. This is an incredible way for people to come together, support one another, and raise vital funds for our local community.

“The relay team option makes the challenge more accessible and enjoyable, allowing participants to take on the route in seven manageable sections alongside the 1,000 walkers expected again this year. Plus, every step helps support a range of charitable causes across the island.”

Whilst Walk Chairman, Simon Milsted, added: “This event embodies the spirit of giving back. Whether you’re a corporate team looking for a rewarding team-building experience or a group of friends keen to take on a challenge together, we’d love for you to be part of Guernsey’s most challenging sponsored event.

“Meet up again at the finish to welcome your final walker across the finish line and share in the celebrations.”
