Every weekend, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops and more to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.

Here’s this week’s offering…

Colours in Music Festival

Islanders are invited to the Blue Note on Saturday night for an evening of music, art and poetry to celebrate the life of David Bothwell.

The event, which is described as a “sensory kaleidoscope”, will be held in aid of Jersey Hospice Care.

Tickets are available for a £10 donation to the palliative care charity.

Genuine Jersey Seaside Market

An artisan market will be held at Grève de Lecq this weekend.

Stalls will be set up at the Seaside Café.

Every product on sale will be sold by a member of Genuine Jersey, meaning everything has been made, grown, caught or reared in Jersey.

The market will be open 10am to 4pm this Sunday.

Voisins Jersey Karting Championship

Round 5 of the Voisins Jersey Karting Championship will take place this Sunday.

The race will be held at the Ronez Loop Road in St John.

More information can be found here, where competitors can also enrol to take part.

Spectators are welcome, but must follow the guidance of the marshals on the day.

Free open-air karate lessons

Free karate sessions will take place this Sunday at the Barracks Gardens on Mount Bingham.

The session will be delivered at 11am by Shihan Derek Veitch.

Everyone is welcome to attend, and no equipment is required.

Participants are advised to wear loose, comfy clothing.

The event is weather-dependent, with updates posted on Facebook.

Saturday art school pop-up

ArtHouse Jersey is presenting a pop-up exhibition this Saturday to showcase work by young artists.

Artwork created by the 12- to 18-year-olds will be showcased at the Grève de Lecq barracks.

The creations were made during ArtHouse Jersey’s Saturday Art School workshops.

The event is free of charge and visitors can just show up any time between 10am and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
