The Lost City

Drum and bass lovers should head to the Watersplash this Saturday 14 June for a night of weighty beats from local and UK artists.

Headlined by music producer Monrroe, who has released albums with big-time record labels and was most recently named ‘Best Alternative Act’ at the Drum & Bass awards, the evening promises to provide some next-level sound.

He will be joined by UK lyricist Duskee, the Koherent duo, and up-and-coming act Viridity, as well as local artists each bringing their unique sound.

Summer concert

Witness the prize-winning Musical Originals choir perform its summer concert this Saturday 14 June.

The free event takes place at the Town Hall and will feature a programme of songs in preparation for the Llangollen International Eisteddfod.

The evening will also feature performances from the Training Choir and various soloists, including Young Musician of the Year Winner Savanna Vogt and BBC Songs of Praise finalist Rubie Le Masurier.

Under the watchful eye of conductor Imogen Nicholls and accompanied by Michael Wynne, the concert will start at 17:30.

Country fair

The Summer Country Fair returns to the Royal Jersey Showground this weekend.

On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 June a variety of local produce will be on display, from fresh flowers, to cakes, cattle, fruit and veg and artwork.

Held by the Royal Jersey Agricultural and Horticultural Society, the annual event is open to the public from 10:30 to 17:00 on both days.

The popular ‘Fun Dog Show’ will also be taking place at 14:00 on Sunday 15 June for keen pooch owners. The competition will be judged by special guest Robin Smith, the chief officer of the States of Jersey Police.

The traditional cake auction fundraiser will then commence at 15:30 Sunday 15 June with all proceeds going to the Salvation Army.

And at 11:00 on Saturday and Sunday the cattle show will showcase milking and young Jersey cows, where visitors can meet the calves and local dairy farmers.

Entry costs £5 per adult, £3 for those aged 60+ and free for under 16s and RJA&HS members.

Junior drama

Catch some young stage talent at the Jersey Arts Centre tonight [FRI 13 JUNE].

Budding actors from the theatre’s junior drama group will take perform in the second and final evening of ‘Show and Tell’, a collection of devised stories they have written themselves.

Expect an evening packed with unexpected twists and big laughs. The performance starts at 18:00. You can purchase tickets here.
