Every week, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops, events and other historic, creative and delicious content to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.

Here’s this week’s offering…

Summer Nights Sessions

This summer, islanders have the chance to experience and see Mont Orgueil Castle in a completely different light.

The annual Summer Nights Sessions hosted by Jersey Heritage are back for another year.

The second of the three sessions is taking place on Thursday 17 July from 7pm until 9pm.

With DJ sets from Simon Gasston and Warren Le Sueur, islanders can enjoy a dance with friends and family in the open air.

Remember to bring along a blanket and a pre-show picnic to enjoy as the sun goes down.

However, anyone unable to attend is in luck – there is another session taking place later in the summer on Thursday 21 August.

Tickets cost £17 plus booking fees and children under one go free. You can find out more information about the event and purchase tickets here.

Children’s Day 2025

This year’s Children’s Day is taking place on Sunday 13 July from 10am until 5 pm.

Islanders can expect bouncy castles, a silent disco as well as live music and a long list of other activities on offer.

The annual event, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, will be held at Howard Davis Park and caters for children of all ages.

The schedule also includes a sensory hour from 10am until 11am, where no performances or music will be played during that hour.

The event, which is hosted by the Lido, will be taking place from 7pm until 9pm.
