Every weekend, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops and more to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.
Here’s this week’s offering…
Children’s Day 2026

Thousands of children and their families are expected to head to Howard Davis Park this Sunday for Children’s Day.
The free event, which celebrates children and young people across the Island, will take place from 10am to 5pm.
Around 50 exhibitors will be taking part, offering activities, games and information throughout the day.
The event is organised by the Department for Children, Young People, Education and Skills and celebrates children’s wellbeing and rights, while giving families a fun day out together.
Visitors can enjoy live music and stage performances, as well as plenty of free activities.
There will be bouncy castles, face painting, yoga, Nerf games, water fights, a photobooth, sports activities, glitter sessions and even giant inflatable zorbs.
Families will be able to learn more about organisations including Jersey Library, Jersey Youth Service, the NSPCC, States of Jersey Police and Family Nursing and Home Care.
There will also be food stalls, with some offering special discounts on the day.
McKinlay’s Summer Concert

Former Hautlieu students are invited to this year’s special summer concert, which is dedicated to the late Michael McKinlay.
The former head of performance technology organised the first Hautlieu Summer Concert 15 years ago.
Dr McKinlay taught at the school for 25 years before he passed away from cancer last year at 59 years old.
Any student who attended the school between 2000 and 2025 is invited to remember Dr McKinlay at the event on Saturday 11 July, which is being held in support of Jersey Hospice Care.
Doors will open at 6pm for welcome drinks and buffet food for a chance to share memories, followed by the concert at 7pm.
Tickets for McKinlay’s Summer Concert are free and can be reserved online.
Summer Model Flying Show

The Jersey Model Aero Club is set to hold its annual model flying display this weekend.
The event will take place at Les Landes from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday 12 June, featuring an afternoon of demonstrations and model flying.
This show will be celebrating the Spitfire, which is now 90 years old.
Entry is free of charge and there is parking in the area.
Summer Pop-up Shop

Jersey Hospice is holding a pop-up summer fashion shop at the Ommaroo Hotel this weekend.
The charity will be displaying and selling a mix of high-street and high-end summer clothes.
Men’s, children’s, and women’s clothes will all be available.
The event will take place from 10am until 3pm on both Saturday 11 July and Sunday 12 July.
The Norman Market

The Norman Market is back in the Royal Square this weekend.
Stalls will then be open every day from 9am to 6pm, but may stay open later if they are busy. The market will close earlier on Sunday, at 4:30pm.
The event will feature sausages, fruits, crepes and gallettes, extensive selections of cheese, honey, cashmere jumpers, cidre, mustard and more.
