Jersey’s national ballet company is inviting islanders of all ages to experience dance in the making as part of a series of behind-the-scenes events.

Ballet d’Jèrri is hosting its ‘Open Studios’ events on various evenings across the next six months in the company’s studio at the Jersey Opera House.

These relaxed evenings offer a rare chance to see new works take shape and give audiences the opportunity to meet the artists, ask questions and discover what happens in the dance studio.

Ballet d’Jèrri founder and artistic director Carolyn Rose Ramsay said: “There’s something really special about sharing the creative process while it’s still in motion.

“Open Studios give people a chance to see the real, human side of what we do; the experimenting, the conversations, the discoveries along the way.

“It’s about being open, curious and creating a space where everyone feels part of it.”

This season’s Open Studios will take place at 19:00 on Friday 12 December, Friday 9 January, Wednesday 4 March and Friday 15 May.

Tickets are available by donation through Eventbrite, rather than at a fixed price.
