The first season of Bergerac is among the shows that can now be watched via Channel 4’s streaming platform.

It follows the launch of a deal providing Channel 4 viewers with the ability to stream UKTV originals and BBC classics, including the revamped detective drama based in Jersey.

The news comes less than a week after executive producer Brian Constantine revealed that a première screening will be held in the island for the second series.

The red carpet event for the first season took place at Cineworld in February 2025 and was attended by a number of cast members, including Irish actor Damien Molony, who plays the lead role of Jim Bergerac.

The venue for the season two première has not yet been revealed.

Commissioned by BBC-owned broadcaster UKTV, the reboot offers a modern take on the iconic 80s detective drama created by Robert Banks Stewart.

It is due to return to U and U&DRAMA, with Banijay Rights handling international distribution.

Filming for the new series, which is expected to air in early 2026, concluded in October.

Mr Constantine said: “Plans are under way for a première screening in Jersey ahead of the season two broadcast and we very much hope to emulate the success of the screening held on the Island earlier this year.”

He continued: “It feels entirely appropriate that Jersey should be among the first to celebrate the new season coming to air.

“I’m very much looking forward to the stars of the show descending on the Island once again, and I hope Jersey will be as excited as I am to join Jim Bergerac on his next adventure.”
