Police are stepping up patrols over half-term and Halloween after receiving reports of eggs being thrown at homes, cars and buses.

States of Jersey Police said officers would carry out additional patrols alongside the Honorary Police and had been visiting local shops to ask for help preventing further incidents.

In a social media post, the force warned that egg-throwing could cause damage and distress, as well as creating a mess.

“If an egg hits a moving vehicle, it could startle or distract the driver and put others at risk,” police said.

The force said it had received “a number of calls” about incidents recently.

Officers also thanked the team at Alliance for their support, describing it as “egg-cellent”.

Police said: “Enjoy Halloween, have fun and leave the eggs at home.”
