The star attraction at the Jersey International Air Display is returning this year – with organisers saying they are aiming to deliver “one of the best” shows in recent years, despite previous financial turbulence.
After missing last year’s event due to a tour of Canada, it has now been confirmed that the Red Arrows are due to perform in Jersey this September as the headline act for the 2025 flying display.
Last year, Guernsey moved its display to June to accommodate the Red Arrows, while Jersey organisers still opted to hold the island’s display in the second week of September.
This summer, the RAF aerobatics team will join a four-hour flying programme over St Aubin’s Bay, which organisers say could be “one of the best” displays since before the pandemic.
14 aircraft have already been confirmed for the flying programme, including the RAF Typhoon, RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team, and the Royal Navy’s Black Cats Helicopter Display Team.
Historic and military aircraft such as the BBMF Dakota, Fairey Swordfish, Catalina flying boat, and Fokker D.XXI will also feature.
Air Display organiser Mike Higgins said the team is still in talks to bring additional rare aircraft to the show, including the Saab Draken and Viggen jets, if enough money can be raised to cover their costs.

A static aircraft display will also return to Jersey Airport on 10 September for the first time in five years, thanks to support from Ports of Jersey.
Lower Park, between St Aubin’s Road and Victoria Avenue, will once again host hospitality areas, food stalls, a military helicopter, vehicles, and other interactive activities.
As well as not having its star attraction, last year’s event faced uncertainty and setbacks, including funding concerns.
Islanders ultimately raised over £30,000 to help bridge a “shortfall in financial support”.
The crowd-funder was in addition to the government’s contribution of at least £40,000, though organisers had stressed the grant was lower than in previous years.
Mr Higgins said volunteers are needed to help with this summer’s event and may be offered behind-the-scenes access or even the chance to fly in some of the participating aircraft.
