An annual half-marathon event raised almost £60,000 for Jersey Hospice Care this year, with runners also witnessing a new course record.
Nearly 900 runners took part in the Hospice 2 Hospice Half Marathon on Sunday 22 March, where George Rice smashed the previous course record by five minutes.
He claimed victory for the first time – finishing in one hour, eight minutes and two seconds.
The first woman over the line was Cara Inch, who beat the current female course record by five minutes with a time of one hour, 20 minutes and 12 seconds.

- V70 + Female – Sue Le Ruez (2:00:46)
- Two-person Relay Male – Jell Mil (1:46:21)
- Two-person Relay Female – Hares 1027 (1:43:49)
- Two-person Relay Mixed – Jane & Ciaran (1:55:02)
- Two-person Relay Male – Carey on My Wayward Run (1:51:10)
- Two-person Relay Female – Eat My Dust Bro Motion! (2:03:36)

Race director Loraine Fulton said: “The Hospice Half just keeps getting better. Since the first event in 2020, we’ve raised more than £250,000 for Jersey Hospice Care.
“I’m extremely proud of our running community for the love they have for this event and the efforts they put in every year to fundraise.”
“It would not be possible without the army of people behind the scenes who work so hard to make it happen.
“It’s been great to hear about everyone’s achievements and reasons for running for Jersey Hospice Care. A fantastic day all round.”

The winners were presented with trophies and certificates at a prize-giving ceremony at Jersey Hospice Care on Wednesday 26 March, with the course record breakers also winning a £100 voucher from Rock n Road Run Co.
