An islander has surpassed his £1,000 fundraising target after completing an extraordinary endurance challenge using only nasal breathing.

Will Crawford, also known as ‘Bare Wills’, ran both a half-marathon and a marathon with his mouth taped shut to raise funds and awareness for ADHD Jersey.

He completed the full marathon at the end of April in four hours and 59 minutes, having already finished the Hospice half-marathon in March in one hour and 55 minutes.

Will said that nasal breathing has been a “game-changer” for how he manages his ADHD, as well as “helping with focus, clarity, emotional regulation, and mental well-being”.

“It’s not just a challenge, but to create awareness for ADHD and the correlation with functional breathwork and how it can change your life,” he explained.

The fundraiser was designed to challenge both his mental and physical discipline.

Will undertook the challenge in support of ADHD Jersey, raising just over £1,000 for the non-profit organisation.

“As someone who has struggled with the disorder for many years, I know how important the support is and the courses that are on offer,” he explained.

ADHD Jersey praised his efforts, describing Will as “strong, determined, inspiring and a true champion for the ADHD community”.

The non-profit organisation added that his achievement sends “a powerful message to every adult and child with ADHD” to “keep pushing, keep believing, keep going”.
