Islanders are being urged to help “paint the seafront orange” by donning their brightest clothes and taking on a 5km walk this weekend in support of a local family charity.
‘Take a Walk on the Bright Side’ will be held on Saturday 16 August to raise awareness of and money for Brighter Futures.
The 5km walk will take place along the avenue, from La Frégate to Bel Royale Pizza Quarter and back.
Participants are encouraged to meet at La Frégate from 09:00, with the walk due to begin at 09:30.
Walkers are asked to dress in bright orange with the aim of creating a “river of orange” in support of Brighter Futures.
There will also be sticker stops along the way to reward children for walking that far.
A charity spokesperson said: “Whether you walk, waddle, run or dance your way through the 5K, every step you take helps us shine a light on the importance of community and connection.
“And the more orange, the better, let’s fill the route with colour, energy and purpose.”
