Two JCG students have launched a new podcast that spotlights the stories and success strategies of “inspiring” local women.

‘Her Secret Ingredient’ is the brainchild of Georgia White and Jess Winch, both 17-year-old Year 12 students at Jersey College for Girls.

The podcast, which they host together, aims to explore themes of female leadership, empowerment, and personal growth.

Announcing the project on Facebook, the school described it as “a space to highlight the ‘secret ingredients’ to achievement and the lessons women have learned on their journeys.”

Jess and Georgia said: “In this podcast, we’ll be interviewing inspiring female leaders from a range of careers and lifestyles.

“We want to explore their stories, challenges and their unique qualities, and their ‘secret ingredient’ that helped them become who they are today.”

“Our hope is that by hearing these stories, you’ll feel inspired and maybe even discover your own ‘secret ingredient’ too.”

The debut episode features Gaëlle Deschamps – founder of G-Force Coaching and a leadership trainer who works with high-performing women – as well as Natalie Hopkins, Head of Sixth Form at JCG.

The hosts explained: “Our goal is to find the recipe for success.

“It’s a space to share wisdom, and we want to build this community where women support one another, and feel free to have conversations about struggles and accomplishments.”

In the first episode, Mrs Deschamps reflects on her early career.

“When I was young, there wasn’t a female leadership program, so I had to make it and create it for myself,” she said. “It’s about creating opportunities.”

Since its release, the ‘Her Secret Ingredient’ podcast has received an overwhelmingly positive response.

Jess and Georgia said that people had praised the topic of female leadership and loved their choice of interview questions

The duo added: “Everyone has reacted in the way we hoped, loving our ideas, the structure of our podcast, and the goals we’re trying to reach to show female determination and success.

“No negative feedback yet, so we’re hoping future episodes get the same amazing reaction as this one.”

Looking ahead, the young podcast hosts have more content in the pipeline.

“We have another episode on its way, and although similar structurally to the first, we’re excited for everyone to hear another inspiring female leader, with a different take and more memorable advice for the next generation of female leaders and women striving to reach their goals,” they said.

“For the future, we hope to have a further reach of female leaders and an even wider audience, but for now we have exciting individuals sharing their stories and inspiring others.”
