The German roll mine, which is about a metre long, was found by a member of the public in a quarry in St John.

A 0.6 nautical mile exclusion zone was set up while the bomb was being dealt with just east of Mourier Bay, and the loop road around Sorel point was closed to traffic. 

It’s thought the bomb was washed out of where it had been lying during the recent storms.
