Enquiries are ongoing following what’s believed to have been a hoax bomb threat at a nightclub.
Les Folies D’Amour night-club was evacuated shortly before closing time in the early hours of this morning, following yesterday’s Liberation Day celebrations.
Guernsey Police said all staff and guests were safely taken outside “following receipt of a threat”.
This morning a police spokesperson confirmed that was a bomb threat and that one man has been arrested.
“Enquiries continue following an incident at Folies nightclub, where a bomb threat was received in the early hours of this morning, however we have been able to safely remove the cordon so North Plantation is now accessible to the public,” they said.
“We thank everyone for their understanding while we ensured there was no threat.
“A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the incident. Anyone with information relevant to the investigation is asked to contact the control room on 222222 or Crimestoppers on 0800555111.”

The precautionary cordon was placed around the Pollet and other areas which gave access to the nightclub on the North Plantation. It was in place from the early hours of this morning until shortly before 09:00.
A police tape remains in place across the front door of Folies this morning.
