Restaurants, hotels and food suppliers from around the island have submitted their recipes, with supporters being asked to select their favourite flavour for a payment of £3.

The annual event, now in its 22nd year, raised £15,000 last year for Shelter Trust, selling over 4,000 mugs of soup.

The team behind the event will be in Royal Square all of today to explain how people can use the soupkitchen.je site and take donations from supporters.
