Thousands of islanders enjoyed games, music and entertainment amid “ideal” weather at the Gorey Fête on Friday.
Lester Richardson, who chairs the Gorey Fête and St Martin Bonfire Committee, estimated this year’s attendance was roughly 6,500 people.
He described it as “steady during the day” before it “really built up in the evening to a huge crowd”.
“It was really, really good – the weather was ideal,” said Mr Richardson.
“It was a lovely day, we had loads of people.”
He added: “Everybody was having fun and in the evening, the music, yard of ale and spaghetti eating always goes down well.”
This year the local charities supported by the Fête are Brightly, Music in Action and Jersey Friends of Anthony Nolan.
“We’re really hoping this will be a very successful year where we can give a decent amount of money out to our charities,” said Mr Richardson.
