The Jersey Fire and Rescue Service has issued a water safety reminder after four people on a paddle board were rescued on Sunday afternoon.
The inshore rescue boat was launched at around 15:00 to assist the group, who were drifting off the island’s south coast.
All four people were returned safely to shore without injury.
In a statement, a JFRS spokesperson said: “While we are pleased this incident ended without serious consequence, it serves as a reminder of the importance of water safety.”

The incident comes just over a month since Jersey Coastguard issued a similar safety reminder, as more people take to the water with paddle boards.
That warning followed several rescues, in which islanders had found themselves struggling against the wind and the tide.
ADVICE…
- Always carry a means of calling for help.
- Wear appropriate flotation equipment.
- Check weather and tide conditions before going on the water.
- Tell someone your plans.
- Stick together and don’t venture beyond your ability.
