Before the first float rolls, another battle of flowers is already heating up – and it’s time for islanders to decide who will win.
Voting is open to crown the best-dressed floral shopfront ahead of the Battle of Flowers.
16 businesses received a total of £39,000 from the Creative Island Partnership to participate in the Battle of Flowers Town Takeover as Jersey gears up to a new-look Battle of Flowers on 8 and 9 August, which will see floats wind their way through the streets of St Helier.
The shopfront floral displays are sourced from local florists and made from sustainable materials, according to organisers.
After a turbulent year for the traditional event, in which it was cancelled before being brought back to life by a new ‘Strategy Group’, the parade is due to go ahead with a new route taking it through the centre of town.

Economic Development Minister Kirsten Morel said it was hoped that the displays put in place ahead of the event would bring “vibrancy” and “energy” to the high street in line with plans to “revitalise” town and boost retail.
“Cornerstone events like this help drive footfall and support our local economy during the busy summer season and I am grateful to the businesses who have fully embraced the spirit of the Town Takeover. I am really excited for the remainder of the new-look Battle programme,” he added.
