From blossoming blooms to colourful creations, St Helier’s high street is in full bloom as businesses compete for floral glory ahead of this year’s Battle of Flowers.

Anyone strolling through town in recent weeks is likely to have noticed shopfronts bursting with eye-catching floral displays – but which one has caught your eye?

Voting has now opened for Islanders to choose their favourite display in this year’s Parish of St Helier Town Takeover competition.

What is the Town Takeover?

Since its success for its inaugural year in 2025, the Town Takeover is back by popular demand to help transform St Helier’s shopping experience, all the while celebrating one of Jersey’s most iconic summer events.

A total of 20 businesses across various industries, applied for and received funding from the Government of Jersey to embellish their shopfronts into floral masterpieces.

The displays will be in place until Sunday 13th September, and will feature elements of the floats after the Battle of Flowers parades on 14th and 15th August.

Connétable of St Helier, Inna Gardiner, said: “The Town Takeover has become a fantastic way of bringing colour, creativity and community spirit into our town centre.

“I hope it will encourage people to spend more time in St Helier, and it will again strengthen the connection between our high street and the Battle of Flowers,” she added.

Assistant Minister for Sustainable Economic Development, Senator Serena Kersten, said: “This scheme is a great example of how culture, tourism and local businesses can work together for the benefit of Jersey’s economy.”

“The Takeover helps boost vibrancy and footfall in St Helier, while highlighting an important part of our Island’s heritage. I encourage everyone to discover the floral displays throughout the summer season and vote for their favourite.”
