Get your backstage pass and discover the hidden heart co-piloting Guernsey’s modern life during 2026.
This summer, we’re opening our gates to curious islanders, so join us for an exclusive, free tour of the Vale Power Station and a rare chance to see the scale of the system behind your every switch.
Why join the power station tour?
- Scale you need to see to believe – stand alongside some of the huge engines that serve as our island’s primary power backup
- Hidden Guernsey – be guided through some places usually strictly off-limits to the public
- Meet the people behind the light switch – have a chat with some of the team keeping the grid stable 24/7
- Our future – learn how your daily habits (such as using off-peak electricity) will help reduce local air pollution and help manage future tariff increases
Accessibility
Please be aware that as it’s a working industrial site, a standard tour may not be accessible for everyone. We may pass through areas which include:
- Uneven surfaces
- Metal grated steps
- Small, confined spaces and passageways
- Loud, industrial noises and beeping
If this would be tricky for you, let us know and you could join an accessibility-friendly tour instead.
When do the tours take place?
We’re running a handful of free tours between April and August and some age restrictions will apply.
We’ll release the dates over the coming months, so make sure you’re following Guernsey Electricity on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn social media and signed up for our newsletter to stay in the know.
What should I wear?
It’s a working industrial site, so please wear study, closed-toe footwear (no high heels, sandals, sliders or flipflops please).
We’ll provide the hard hats and high viz.
How do I sign up?
Click here to register your interest in a backstage pass and we’ll email to let you know when the tour dates will be.
Our tours are between April and August, so keep your eyes peeled for later dates if you’re not able to make the one advertised.
