Guernsey-born AFC Bournemouth Midfielder, Alex Scott had his jaw broken during the weekend’s game against Aston Villa.

This happened early in the Premier League match after a collision. He tried to play on but had to be subbed off at halftime.

The club says that scans show it’s a displaced fracture, meaning he will need surgery, sadly ruling him out for the rest of the season.

It’s been a tough season for Scott. This is the second time this season he’s been sidelined after recovering from knee surgery earlier this year.

Although this injury, arguably, couldn’t come at a better time.

His team is currently in 10th place in the league and doesn’t have much to play for in the last two games of the season. There’s no relegation risk, and no chance of European qualification.

The 21-year-old midfielder joined Bournemouth in 2023 for a club-record fee from Bristol.

Despite his injuries, Scott played 32 times for his team, and that’s with a previous knee injury and a MCL injury keeping him out for prolonged periods.
