As the curtain closed on the 2025 Island Games, Team Guernsey won more medals as the final events were held.

In the Badminton competition, after a week of action the Sarnian team were rewarded with a medal.

Alex Tapp and David Trebert came second in the Men’s Doubles event to secure the Silver medal.

The duo had beaten a Menorca pair in the semis to set up a showdown with the Faroe Islands in the final on Friday afternoon.

Despite beating a different Faroe pair earlier in the competition, the Sarnians were unable to win the final, but they’ll be coming home smiling with the Silver medal to reward their progress throughout the week.

The Women’s Road Criterium Team Award was won by Guernsey with Helena Duguid, Pippa Inderwick, Hannah Kennedy, Andrea Nightingale, and Chloe Truffit on the final day of action.

Guernsey’s Men’s Mountain Bike Cross Country team are coming home with a Bronze medal after their efforts in Orkney.

Seth Davey, Mark Ferbrache, Mark Le Page, Peter Sargent, and Charlie Tourtel were only beaten by Jersey and the Isle of Man, on Thursday evening with the results confirmed on Friday morning.

On the track, Darcey Hodgson came first in the Women’s 800m while Gian Luca Robilliard won Bronze in the Men’s 800m.

Also securing medals on the last day of action in Orkney were the Guernsey Women’s 4 x 400m and 4 x 100m relay teams.

Hodgson was part of the Silver winning 4x400m team alongside Amelia Hart, Emily Pike, and Abi Galpin.

Hart and Pike also ran in the Bronze medal winning 4x100m relay team with Matilda Beddow and Sophie Grant.

Guernsey’s men won the Half Marathon Team Bronze award.

Sammy Galpin, James Priest, and Ethan Woodhead had finished 4th, 10th, and 17th respectively to pick up the team prize.

Galpin had been just 24s behind the Bronze medal placed Faroe runner as they crossed the line.
